Edgar Valverde

Certified Euro Tech

Edgar Valverde joined Team Osborn in 2009. He took a hiatus from 2011-2012 and donned the cape of Automotive teacher/instructor at one of our local trade schools. He missed wrenching and he missed the beach and rejoined us in 2012. Edgar possesses a profound knowledge of the inner workings of all vehicles but specializes in Euro vehicles. He has worked hard to become a true Automotive Professional earning his A.S. in Automotive Technology at SBCC, and his certification as an ASE Master Technician, as well as a certification in Advanced Diagnostic's. When Edgar talks "tech" it's like listening to "Bill Nye the Science Guy". You can watch the transformation from shop technician to Dr. Valverde, after a question has been posed his posture slowly changes from the slightly bent over position of a mechanic to the perfect posture of a professional shoulders thrust back head held tall arms folded behind his back and soon comes that faraway look in his eyes as he searches the depths of his mind for all the words needed to explain in depth the answer to your question. Unfortunately the question is usually something as simple as "Edgar, what would you like for lunch?".

Dr. Valverde was born in Mexico City; he migrated to Santa Barbara, CA when he was 20 years old. He is a World Traveler, who proficiently speaks Spanish, English, French and German. He loves playing the piano, listening to music, skiing, eating and working with anything that can fly, float or move. Edgar is a true car buff, he has his own fleet of European cars, and each car has its own personalized name. First up is a little red 1992 VW GTI named Reveka, next is a 1978 VW Golf named Alex Forta, Elisa is a little red convertible top 1987 VW Cabriolet, and Fergie is a black, sleek looking 99 Audi A6 Quattro. If you would like a more in depth look at Edgar's cars and passion for cars you can find all the information you may like at his website www.evgready.com. Edgar has a passion for fuel-efficient vehicles, and is very interested in new forms of energy used to power vehicles. All around Edgar is a fascinating, gregarious, hard-working fellow and he is a great fit for Team Osborn.
